Global Leader, Circular Economy
Mark is born in Helmond, The Netherlands. He holds a Master of Science degree in Physics from Eindhoven University of Technology in The Netherlands.
Mark began his career as process control engineer at the Research Department of DSM in 1989. At DSM he also took on roles in manufacturing, large projects, licensing and business management. With the purchase of DSM Petrochemicals activities, Mark joined SABIC in 2002 and subsequently managed the European Business Intelligence, Strategic Planning and Research. In 2007 Mark was appointed as the integration director for the newly acquired SABIC UK Petrochemical activities, after which he returned in 2008 to manage the energy and utilities business for SABIC in Europe. From 2012 until 2019 he was responsible for SABIC’s polyethylene business in Europe. Currently Mark is SABIC’s global leader for Circular Economy. Mark is also chairman of the Board of PCEP (Polyolefin Circular Economy Platform) and a Board Member of NRK Verpakkingen, the Dutch plastics packaging association.
Mark is married and has two children. He lives in Maarheeze and is an enthusiastic football fan and jogger.
