Dr. Weisbrod has worked in the environmental safety and sustainability field for more than 2 decades at AIESEC-US (New York), Outokumpu Oy (Finland), the Helsinki University of Technology, and P&G. She completed her graduate dissertation on organochlorine contamination of Northwest Atlantic whale food chains with the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. Today, she guides the sustainable innovation of consumer products, and manages research partnerships in sustainability science with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the World Wildlife Fund. She has previously led cross-sector collaborations to improve how the bioaccumulation potential of chemicals is assessed within new chemical management programs in Canada and the European Union. She has developed >80 environmental risk assessments to evaluate ingredient safety, and published >30 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Annie has been an active member and leader of the Society of Environmental Toxicology & Chemistry (SETAC), and the International Symposium on Sustainable Systems and Technology (ISSST).
